This is a wine packaging project for Budureasca, one of the most thriving middle-weight wine producers on the Romanian market. The concept of this wine’s label is based upon an ancient historical tale that speaks about the old Dacian king Burebista who ordered the burning of all the vineyards on his lands.
Budureasca decided to honor this historical fact with a new series of special wines. They would speak about how all beautiful things must come to an end, just so even more beautiful things may flourish from their hot ashes.
While designing this label I have tried to find a symbol that would equally represent the fire and the vine while keeping an overall fragile look of innocence and rebirth. Production was a delicate matter as two types of hot foil were used along with extensive use of blind embossing.
